Invigorating, memorable and an excellent way to take in the natural beauty of the Deer Creek grounds, our trail ride program has become an essential part of the Lodge experience.

You’ll begin with the help of our experienced guides and handlers, selecting the perfect, well-mannered Tennessee Walking Horse for your ability. From there, the rolling hills and scenic western Kentucky landscapes are yours and your camera’s alone. Our trails take riders through wooded hills, hollows and rich pastureland, typically encountering whitetail deer, wild turkey, numerous songbirds, great blue herons and red-tailed hawks. You’ll visit local, historically important points-of-interest like Bald Knob and Sawmill Hollow, then take in vistas from Marker Hill, the highest point in Webster County, Kentucky. Rides even feature a trip to pioneer home sites and an abandoned graveyard dating back to the 1800s before concluding back at the Lodge where you’ll likely opt to stay for a well-deserved Southern dinner.
